Our Music Room

Like the garlands of Kankambaram that are used to worship our deities, our music room with its archive section inspired by renowned musician, Sri.Palagummi Vishwanadham,is a heartfelt tribute to the musical heritage of South India.

In April, 2013 Saptaparni initiated ‘Swara Raga Nidhi’ to preserve and document South Indian Classical music concerts, lecture-demonstrations/workshops and a library of valuable books, journals and articles on Indian music. Several of thesebooks and rare audio recordings were generously donated to us from Mr. Vishwanadham’s personal collection. Similarly Mr.R.T.Chari enriched our initiative by contributing over thousand hours of music, which he painstakingly compiled over three decades.

Working tirelessly withTAG Centre from Chennai, we jointly designed the TAG Digital archives that enable music aficionados to listen to music of their choice – by concert, artiste, composer and raga.We hope that this humble initiative will help preserve and make Indian music available for future generations to come.

It is equipped with 3 Computers with 1000 hrs music loaded in it.
